Don’t miss GODSPEED!

I can’t remember when I’ve been so excited for a book to come. This is the book I’ve modeled after the Edward Leighton painting of the same name, a very famous painting of the knight departing for battle and his lady tying a favor on his arm. I even have the scene written into the book! You see the events leading up to that painting, that snapshot in time, and the events afterwards. It’ll give you a whole new perspective on that classic painting.

But why am I so excited about this one? As we know, I write a lot of books during the course of a year (it’s a sickness I have!!), and I will be honest that sometimes, I finish up a book and I’m so sick of it that I just can’t look at it anymore. Kind of like a favorite child whom you love dearly but you need to kick them outside to go and play. Kind of like that. But Godspeed wasn’t like that. I got super-attached to the hero, Dashiell du Reims, because Dash is the type of guy I think any woman would want for her own – he’s kind, thoughtful, extraordinarily brave, and he is determined to do the right thing, so much so that it nearly costs him the woman he loves. When I finished Godspeed, I was really sorry to see it go. I could have spent way more time with Dashiell and Belladonna, his lady love.

Godspeed is also a very complex book – lots of politics involved, complicated sisterly relationships, a really BAD antagonist, and we also get to see a lot of old friends in this book – the de Lohr brothers, Marcus Burton, Gart Forbes – and it’s always good to see those guys. Plus, we meet the hero of High Warrior, my April release, in Bric MacRohan. There’s no other way to put it –  Bric is a reckless badass, a bad boy knight that women love. He plays a brief but crucial role in Godspeed.

So – if you haven’t pre-ordered Godspeed yet, then do it. If you only read one of my books this year, make it this one. It’s going to suck you in from the first page and, if you’re lucky, won’t let you go until the very end. It’s a BIG book, too, which makes it all the better!

Make sure you have your copy of Godspeed reserved for a March 8 release! I think you’re going to LOVE it!
