Why I think Amazon is king for Ebooks

Let’s face it… there’s a glut of websites out there that readers can purchase ebooks on. Tons.

When I first went to epublishing, I did my homework. I looked around at all of the sites I could find that offered to publish my novels. Amazon, Nook, Smashwords, Kobo, etc… I read about them, both pros and cons.  Why did I choose to go with Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing program? Pure and simple – they’re the king, and they’re global.  Amazon is gigantic. They’re easy to use, prompt, and do most of the work for you.  All you really have to do is write the book. They pretty much do the rest. T

hey have been very, very good to me.

You’ll read things about these smaller sites and how they’re ‘growing’ and are ‘going to give Amazon a run for their money’. Some are even described as ‘a poor man’s Amazon’……… seriously? Why would you choose something that is ‘up and coming’ or ‘a poor man’s’ ANYTHING and not just go straight ot the source?

More people have Kindles these days than any other device. For my purposes, I choose to go with Amazon purely because they are the biggest and the best. I’ve tried Nook and Kobo. They can’t compare. They don’t get nearly the exposure of Amazon. My novels are global right now, which is better than any marketing department in any traditional publishing house, or any smaller website, could have done for me.  I have readers all over the globe.  As I said, Amazon has been extremely good to me and I am a loyal follower and user.  The indie author revolution, and Amazon, has changed my life. I used to be a ‘struggling’ author. Now I am an established one, and nothing could make me happier.

Therefore, when speaking of ebook sales, my recommendation is as follows… go with Amazon in purchasing OR selling. You can’t go wrong.  One click on their website back in May 2012, and my life was changed forever.

Thanks, Amazon!
